Project Return
Partnering with incarcerated mothers returning to the Springfield community
Our Mission
Project Return’s mission is to help incarcerated mothers reintegrate into the Springfield community by matching each returning mother with a team of trained and supported volunteers for one year. We also educate the public about the barriers these women face as they seek to make a successful re-entry into the community.

Ready to Serve
St. Paul AME Church assembled their own Partnership Team, which has been matched with an incarcerated mother returning to the community. Pictured here are Team members Regena Wilson, Pamela Jones and Cheryl Goza Smith at a reception following a commissioning ceremony at their church.
Invite Us To Your Church!
Project Return invites congregations of all denominations to partner with us. Our Board of Directors and Partnership Team volunteers have been drawn from more than a dozen Springfield-area churches. Several churches have put together their own Partnership Teams, groups of 3-4 trained volunteers who partner with returning mothers to help them reintegrate into the community. Other churches have made generous cash donations.
We would love to speak to your congregation or church group! If you would like Project Return to make a presentation at your church, please use our Contacts page and check the option “I would like for someone from Project Return to speak to my organization.” Or call 217-788-8002.
